The Messiah:
The Messiah is the term used to describe Jesus as the long awaited servant of the lord that would fulfill the prophecy of salvation for god’s people. The Suffering Servant: The Suffering Servant- Jesus used this name to emphasize the fact that he was god’s servant and his suffering was for god’s demise. This also appealed to make Jesus seem more human and much like the common man, even more stressing that anyone can do gods work. The Son of man: The son of man was often a prophecy name, someone who would be receiving the power of the lord- “man”- and establishing the kingdom of god. |
